CRANAplus Advanced Life Support

Gain Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification on your terms by completing the CRANAplus ALS course online.

This is the only accredited ALS course in Australia that enables you to undertake the clinical assessment via a virtual platform.

This course delivers the theory component entirely online. You are then required to undertake a clinical assessment. This component is undertaken using Skype or similar technology with an approved ALS assessor observing you virtually. You will need specific medical equipment at hand before commencing the clinical assessment. The CRANAplus ALS course is the only one in Australia that enables you to undertake the clinical assessment component via a virtual platform.

The course, comprising both online theory and a virtual assessment, is based on the Australian Resuscitation Council Guidelines and best practice principles, and has been accredited by ACRRM & RACGP. The content is contextualised to the specialised setting experienced by remote, isolated and rural medical professionals. The learning outcomes are congruent with the knowledge and skills identified by other providers at the ALS Level 2.

Basic Life Support (BLS) is a self-reported (no evidence required) prerequisite for this module.

The CRANAplus ALS Courses consists of the following components:

  1. Theory - completed online
  2. Scenario based clinical assessment - observed virtually using Skype or similar technology

Following successful completion of both components you will be awarded an Advanced Life Support Certificate and will have the skills required for the management of the patient prior, during and after a cardio respiratory arrest.

By registering for this module you agree to complete the CRANAplus clinical assessment component. With all required resources at hand, the assessment is completed via Skype (or equivalent) with a CRANAplus Assessor.
