Thrombosis in Primary Care



The focus of this education module is thrombosis management in primary care, with an emphasis on non-valvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF) and venous thromboembolism (VTE).

RACGP: 40 Category 1 QI&CPD points
ACRRM: 30 PRPD points


  1. For optimum user experience, this 6 hour module is best undertaken on a PC or laptop
  2. POINTS AND A CERTIFICATE WILL APPEAR WITHIN 14 DAYS, provided all criteria has been completed to the satisfaction of the accredited provider.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Distinguish the signs and symptoms of AF and VTE from other differential diagnoses.
  2. Identify the factors that put patients with AF and VTE at risk of stroke and bleeding.
  3. Demonstrate an understanding of the role of new oral anticoagulants (NOACs) in the management of AF and VTE patients in primary care.
  4. Develop appropriate systems to ensure you are able to effectively diagnose AF and VTE patients and improve their management on anticoagulants.
